Grand Pine Forest - First Announcements
Grand Pine Forest » Devlog
In my first dev log I would like to clarify the current course and future development of Grand Pine Forest.
- Why did you make Grand Pine Forest?
This is actually an attempt in using 3d Assets and playing around with 3D unity in general. And so far, I think I have learned a lot and am glad I gave it a chance. This mood was somewhat inspired by Hilda, a British children's graphic novel series which I thought was amazing work by Luke Pearson. - Where is the game ?
So initially, this was suppose to be an even simpler game where I just focus on narration and environment feeling. But something inside me wanted to try even more. There are a few things left I want to do before releasing it. Will share the list before. - Okay okay, so what kind of game is this ?
To be honest, it is still a simple game, where you walking around the small environment I have built and understand the story that the narration is trying to convey to you. And in between I have sprinkled some puzzles which is somewhat of a treasure hunt. - When can I expect first updates or when the game will be released ?
As of now, I'm planning a major update sometimes in the next few days(3 days?) as I have some time off on work. So, I do hope I can reach a first release before this 20th as I do want to participate in a game jam to challenge my self even further.
List of Main Updates
- 2 More Puzzles Area
- Adding Music
- Complete the End of the game
- Start Menu
Bonus Updates
- Basic footstep sounds
- Redo some voices and story
- I wanted to give it another go in the story and voice narrating part so it doesn't sound too monotone.
- Add more interactable items
- Secret Ending
- If I do get some reception for this game, I wouldn't mind adding a secret ending.

I've done most of the main updates. Just need some play testing, fixes and completing the end game sequence. And hopefully have time to swap some of the voice storyline
